Sweta Verma, Ayushman Pati, Urja Verm and Somnath Soumya Ranjan Subuddhi were crowned individual champions in the 7th Odisha State Inter-School Table Tennis Championship, which concluded at Biju Patnaik Multi-Purpose Indoor Hall, CDA, Cuttack today.
The two-day championship, featuring a total of 257 players (160 boys and 90 girls) from 62 schools, was organized by Odisha State Table Tennis Association (OSTTA). Team competitions in four categories were completed on the opening day.
Odisha Olympic Association secretary Avijit Paul and Cuttack District Sports Officer Gangadhar Behera joined the opening ceremony as chief guest and guest of honour respectively. OSSTA office-bearers, including secretary RK Parida were present on the occasion.

Junior Girls Singles: Sweta Verma (Guru Nanak Public School, Katak) beat Aradhya Sahoo (BJEM School, Bhubaneswar) 3-0.
Junior Boys Singles: Ayushman Pati (DPS, Kalinga) beat Aryasnsh Prasad Singh (Prabhujee English Medium School, Bhubaneswar) 3-2.
Senior Girls: Urja Verma (Ravenshaw Higher Secondary, Katak) beat Aafia Mohsin (Shailabala Higher Secondary, Katak) 3-0.
Senior Boys Singles: Somnath Soumya Ranjan Subuddhi (Govt High School, Saheed Nagar, Bhubaneswar) beat Zaid Khan (New Stewart School, Katak) 3-0.
TEAM EVENTS:
Senior Girls (Round Robin League): Guru Nanak Public School, Katak (Sweta Verma, Sidiksha Bhagat, Sakshi Bhagat) champion and PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya-1, Bhubaneswar (Kiran Jyoti Nayak, Anwesha Aniruddha) runners-up.
Senior Boys: New Stewart School, Katak (Syed Arsh Ali, Zaid Khan) beat Christ Higher Secondary, Katak (Abdul Arief, Takmil Mohammed) 3-2.
Junior Girls: Puri Zilla School, Puri (Shritija Choudhury, Abhilipsa Das) beat PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jatni (B Vaibhavi, Bhumika Bhaktiparna) 3-0.
Junior Boys: St Xaviers High School, Katak (Rashmi Ranjan Padhi, Sai Nirmalya Rana) beat Cambridge School, Katak (Rudra Ranbir, Punyaslok Barik) 3-0.
