India finished a disappointing eighth among nine teams in the FIH Mens Hockey Pro League after winning their 16th and last league match against England 3-2 in shoot out at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centr in London today. Overall, India won six matches and lost 10 to end their campaign with 19 points.
Belgium emerged champions with 42 points and qualified for the 2028 Loss Angeles Summer Olympic Games. England settled as runners-up with 35 points, while Australia secured the third position with 30 points. Pakistan finished last without a single point, and relegated to the FIH Nations Cup 2026-27.
India registered four outright wins and two vie shootout, suffered seven outright defeats and three in shootout. During the FIH Pro League, India mid-fielder Manpreet Singh became the most-capped mens international hockey player of India, playing his 413th international match against Germany on June 17. He surpassed Odisha legend and current Hockey India president Dilip Tirkey, who represented the country 412 times during his illustrious career.
The third leg of the FIH Mens Pro League 2025-26 was held in Rotterdam, Netherlands from June 14 to 21. The fourth and last leg took place in London, England from June 23 to 28. Two players from Odisha (Amit Rohidas and Shilanand Lakra) represented the 18-member Indian mens team, which was led by Harmanpreet Singh.
