Odisha duo, Ayush Pattanayak and Abinash Mohanty won the mens doubles bronze medal in the Yonex-Sunrise Dr Akhilesh Das Gupta Memorial All India Senior Ranking Badminton Tournament at BBD UP Badminton Academy in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh today.

Ayush and Abinash settled for the bronze after losing to Karnataka pair of Sumith AR and Aarya T in the semifinals in straight games (8-15, 10-15). The Odisha duo reached the semifinal, defeating Devanshu Jawla (UP) and Tushar Sharma (CAG) 15-7, 15-13 in round-32, Divyam Arora and Bhavya Chhabra (Delhi) 16-14, 15-11 in round-16 and Sanjai Srivatsa D (TN) and Gouse Shaik (AP) 16-14, 15-11 in quarterfinals.

This was the first bronze medal in an All-India mens ranking tournament for Ayush and Abinash and marked a successful comeback after a year of struggle. The Odisha duo has the reputation of winning two silver and one bronze medals at international tournaments so far.
