*     Made his First-Class debut at the age of 18, under the captaincy of L I Parija.
*     He was most probably the first to play Ranji Trophy from Bhubaneswar.
*     After joining the Birlas in Hyderabad, played in the local league there for Deccan Blues under Abbas Ali Baig.
*     He was eventually selected for Secunderabad XI under Late M L Jaisimha.
*     While working in Kuwait and Dubai, he used to play a lot of cricket and was member of the playing for Kuwait XI that toured England, Switzerland and Denmark for a few friendly games.
*     Returned to Bhubaneswar and formed The Veterans Cricketers Association of Orissa.
*     Organised the second of the five-match international series between veteran cricketers of India and Pakistan at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack.
*     Functioned as a member of the Veterans Board for India.
*     After completing studies in Delhi University In 1968, he started `The Misfits Club’ in Bhubaneswar.
*     The then Chief Minister Biju Patnaik was the president of the club.
*     Ten boys of Misfits Club were selected to represent Bhubaneswar in the Kalahandi Cup Senior Inter-District Cricket Tournament.
*     He was the captain of the Bhubaneswar team that won the Kalahandi Cup, beating the much fancied Cuttack in the final at the Barabati Stadium in 1968.
*     Bhubaneswar team had the likes of Aditya Mohanty, Ravi Mohapatra, Minu Kanungo, Kuna Mishra, Mansoor Ali, Sanjoy Satpathy, Jadu Patro, Pravat Das, Late Prasant Rath, Late Bulu Mishra, Prafulla Patnaik .
*     The Cuttack players included L I Parija, Ashok Jena, Alok Dash, SP Nanda, Prakash Mishra, Binoy Behera, Anil Satpathy, Madan Mohanty, Siddharth Raut, Manohar Sharma, Late Sanat Mishra, Jolly Ray, Ashok Mahapatra, Daniel Rout, Maina Misra, Nina Mohanty, Daduli Das and Mihir Mohanty.
*     His father served as the State Finance Secretary and Finance Member of Orissa State Electricity Board.
