*     Became a national level football referee in 1967.
*     Worked as a qualified football referee for three decades.
*     Officiated high-voltage football match between Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan and East Bengal.

Officiated football match between India and Russia teams at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack.
*     As a sports journalist, he worked for premier Odia daily The Samaj for 40 years before retiring in 1997.
*     Started his sports journalist career as a reporter of The Samaj in 1958, followed it as sub-editor (sports) in 1963 and finallly as news editor.
