STATE:
*     Secured second position in U-14 boys all-round event of the 39th Odisha State Gymnastics Championship, held at Indoor Stadium, Talabania, Puri on March 11 and 12, 2017.

NATIONAL:
*     Won 2 Bronze medals for Odisha in the Senior Artistic Gymnastics National Championship at the Gymnastics Centre in Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar between 2-4 January 2024.
*     Won 2 Silver medals (one each in men still rings and parallel bars) in artistics gymnastic competition of the 37th National Games, held in Goa from 23 to 28 October 2023.
*     Won the Silver medal in mens rings event of the Senior National Artistic Gymnastics Championship in Phagwada, Punjab on 29 November 2022.
*     Won Gold medal in individual apparatus (parallel bars) event of the 55th Junior Artistic National Gymnastics Championship, held at Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Pune, 3-5 May 2019.

INTERNATIONAL:
*     Represented India at the FIG Artistic Gymnastics Apparatus World Cup, held in Cairo, Egypt from 15-18 February 2024.
*     Represented Indian Artistic Gymnastics squad at the Asian Games, held in Hangzhou, China from 20 September to 8 October 2023.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
*     On 18 July 2023, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik presented him with a cheque of Rs 10 lakh for qualifying for the Asian Games 2023.
*     On 17th December 2021, he received a cash award of Rs 67,000 from the Government of Odisha for winning gold medal at the 55th Junior Artistic National Gymnastics Championship.
*     Received a State Government cash award of Rs 5,000 for winning bronze medal in sub-junior (U-14) individual category of the 61st National School Gymnastic Championship, held at Rangareddy, Telangana, 26-30 April 2016.
*     During childhood, Tapan waned to follow the footsteps of his father Lokanath Mohanty, who was a State-level wrestler and a servitor at the Jagannath Temple.
*     Tapan started his wrestling training at a Jagaghar (Akhada) near his house when he was just seven years old.
*     But he switched to gymnastics after seeing performance of gymnasts during a selection trial at Indoor Stadium, Puri.
*     Started gymnastics at Sports Hostel, Puri where he spent six years (2012-2018).
