* Played his last National at the Senior National Championship in Punjab, 1981.
* Made international debut by representing India in Junior International Gymnastics Competition in Manila, Philippines, 1980.

* 2 silver and 1 bronze medals in the Junior National Gymnastics Championships in Kolkata, 1979.

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS AS COACH:
* Worked as the chief coach at an India camp, held in Hyderabad, 2006-07.
* He was the coach of the Odisha squad that won 3 medals in the Junior National Gymnastics Championship in 2011.
* He was the coach of the Odisha squad that won boys team silver medal in the Junior National Gymnastics Championship in Cuttack, 2009.
* His pupils won around 25 medals in School National Gymnastics Championships from 2007 to 2017.
* Groomed many international and national level gymnasts.
* His prominent students are: Hema Sankar Majhi, Lata Patra, Ramesh Behera, Zia-ur Rehman (all internationals), Krishna Rao, Sai Kumar Rai, Ajay Kumar Gupta, Jagadish Barik (all Nationals).

* He was a medal prospect for India at the 1982 Delhi Asian Games, but became a victim of the fued between Gymnastics Federation of India and Odisha Gymnastic Association and was not included in the Indian squad.

* His career as a gymnast lasted for 14 years (from 1967 to 1982).
