IN COMPETETIVE SPORTS:
*     Won the gold medal in veteran men’s in air rifle open sight events of the 7th Odisha State Shooting Championship, held at Bhubaneswar from August 17 to 20, 2017.
*     Won medals in National Karate championships, but was disqualified from competition for dangerous striking.
*     Learned wrestling at the age of 10 at Kalinga Gymnasium in Cuttack.
*     Took to karate in 1980 at Bhubaneswar.

IN COACHING:
*     Karate India Organisation appointed him as its Honorary Chief National Advisor of Training and Development on 17 April, 2021.
*     Started his coaching career after suffering a knee injury in 1986.
*     Became the first martial-art guru to secure 7th dan black belt and accredited coaching license from World Karate Federation in March, 2014.
*     As a karate coach, he grooomed many National medal winners, including Gouri Mohanty, Santosh Moharana, Satyashree Jena.

IN ADMINISTRATION:
*     Elected vice-president of the newly formed Karate Association of India (KAI) at New Delhi on October 27 2013.
*     He is the founder of Utkal Karate School in Bhubaneswar.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
*     Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik conferred him with the Biju Patnaik Award for Best Contribution to Promotion of Sports and Games for the year 2016 in Bhubaneswar on August 29, 2017. The award carried a cheque of Rs 50,000.
*     He was conferred with the honorary doctorate in martial art by Utkal University on 3rd February, 2017.
*     Utkal University awarded him the Doctorate of Philosophy degree in 2016 for his thesis `Mind Mastery in Patanjali and other Yogic Systems’.
