DESCRIPTION:
* After completing 25 years of existence, the tournament assumed above-mentioned new name as Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) became new title sponsor.
* It was earlier known as Kalinga Marine Bibekananda Memorial Inter-School Football Tournament and was first held in 1990.
* Altogether 27 schools, including four new ones, have confirmed to participate in the month-long league-cum-knockout tournament, which would feature more than 50 matches.
* The new schools include DAV Public School (Kalinga Nagar), Ramakrushna Mission School, BJEM School (Satyabhamapur) and Kendriya Vidyalaya No 3.
* Teams have been divided into eight groups and after completion of group league, top two teams from each group will qualify for knock-out (quarterfinal) stage.
* Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) were champions in the last two editions.
