DESCRIPTION:
*     Players from all over India are expected to participate in this open tournament, which was started in the year 1991 by hotelier Kumar Halder in the memory of his father Makhanlal Halder.
*     The tournament will be conducted by Debasis Panigrahi, Games Director of Orissa State Chess Association (OSCA).
*     The tournament offers total cash prize of Rs 33,500, including Rs 7,000 for the champion.
*     Players occupying the first 20 positions will be given cash prizes.
*     Last year Birakishore Behera (Puri) was the champion and Prabhat Ojha (Bhubaneswar) runner-up.
*     Free hotel accommodation will be provided to all out-station players on prior intimation.
*     Entry fee is Rs 250 (for senior players) and Rs 150 (for school children).
*     Entry closes on 22nd June, 2016.
