DESCRIPTION:
* ITF Futures will be first of its kind and second international tennis tournament in Odisha after Asian U-14 event, held at Kalinga Stadium some years ago.
* The Asian U-14 Tournament, however, did not feature any foreign player.
* ITF Futures is lowest category of men’s professionsal circuit tournament, organised by International Tennis Federation (ITF).
* Futures Tournaments are single week tournaments that offer either $15,000 or $25,000 each in prize money.
* These tournaments must be scheduled in three consecutive weeks of $15,000 each in prize money or two consecutive weeks of $25,000 each in prize money.
* The Bhubaneswar Futures-1 carries a prize fund of $15,000.
* It will be followed by Futures-2 at Kolkata and Futures-3 at Chandigarh from March 5 and March 12 respectively.
* Futures-1 will feature competition in singles and doubles.
* Main draw size will be 32 for singles and 16 for doubles.
* Singles main draw will include 22 direct entrants, eight qualifiers and two wild cards.
* Draw size for singles qualifying will be 32.
* An MoU has been signed between OTA and State Sports Department (DSYS) for the staging of the ITF Futures-1.
