DESCRIPTION:
*     The 2022 Winter Olympics are scheduled to include a record 109 events over 15 disciplines in seven sports.
*     There will be seven new medal events, including mens and womens big air freestyle, womens monobob, mixed team competitions in freestyle skiing aerials, ski jumping, and snowboard cross, and the mixed relay in short track speed skating.
*     Indian alpine skier Mohammad Arif Khan will be competing in the slalom and giant slalom events.
*     Arif Khan, who hails from Jammu and Kashmir, is the first-ever Indian athlete to directly qualify for two different events at a single edition of the Winter Games.
*     He will be competing in the giant slalom event on February 13 and the slalom on February 16.
*     Arif Khan qualified for Beijing Winter games in slalom in Dubai in November and for giant slalom with a 14th-placed finish in Montenegro in December.
