DESCRIPTION:
* The championship will feature competition in open and women categories with nine rounds each.
* The top four in Open and top two in the Women will qualify to the respective FIDE World Cup 2023.
* Total US$ 60000 prize is up for grabs.
* Top three prizes in the Open section are $7000, $6000 and $5000, it is $6000, $5000 and $3000 in the Women.
* GM R Praggnanandhaa and IM Tania Sachdev (both India) are the top seeds in the Open and Women event respectively.
* A total of five players from Odisha would represent India in this championship.
* Among the five, FM Sambit Panda (2362) and IM Sidhant Mohapatra (2343) would compete in Open category, while IM Padmini Rout (2390), WIM Saina Salonika (2209) and WGM Kiran Manisha Mohanty (2030) would battle it out in women category.
* Padmini Rout would start as the third seed.
