DESCRIPTION:
* The 2022 SAFF U-20 Championship will be the 4th edition of the SAFF U-18 Championship, an international football competition for under-18 men national teams organized by South Asian Football Federation (SAFF).
* Five countries would participate in this championship.
* The five countries are: Bangladesh, Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka and host India.
* Five teams will play each other once in a round robin format with the top two teams moving to the final slated for August 5.
* Matches will be played at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar.
* India are the defending champions after having won the previous edition in 2019 by beating Bangladesh with 2–1 margin.
* Indian squad is mostly a continuation of the Indian Arrows batch that has participated in the Hero I-League over the last two seasons.
* Shanmugam Venkatesh is the Head Coach of the Indian team.
* The India U-20 team had been training for over a month in Bhubaneswar.
SCHEDULE:
July 25: Nepal vs Maldives (4.00 PM) and Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh (8.00 PM).
July 27: India vs Bangladesh (4.00 PM) and Sri Lanka vs Nepal (8.00 PM).
July 29: India vs Sri Lanka (4.00 PM) and Maldives vs Bangladesh (8.00 PM).
July 31: Maldives vs Sri Lanka (4.00 PM) and India vs Nepal (8.00 PM).
August 2: Bangladesh vs Nepal (4.00 PM) and India vs Maldives (8.00 PM).
August 5: FINAL (7.00 PM).
