DESCRIPTION:
* This is the 27th edition of the World Badminton Championships which was first held in Malmo, Sweden in 1977.
* Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium is the venue of the championship.
* India has sent a 26-member squad, which includes seven singles players and 10 doubles pairs.
* India has bagged 12 medals at the World Badminton Championships, but the only gold came in 2019 through PV Sindhu.
* Sindhu, however, has pulled out of the ensuing edition due to an injury to her left foot.
