DESCRIPTION:
* FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers (Window-1) is scheduled to be held in Kazakhstan and New Delhi from 23 to 26 February 2024.
* The Indian Senior Men Basketball Team has been placed in Group E with Qatar, Kazakhstand and Iran.
* Odisha, Chandigarh and Railway player Amarendra Nayak has been selected in the 12-member Indian team.
* Amritpal Singh (Punjab) will lead the Indian team with Palpreet Singh Brar as his deputy.
* Veselin Metic is the Head Coach of the Indian team.
* Odisha Basketball Association Secretary Ashok Sahu has been named as the managter of the Indian team.
* India will play their first match against Kazakhstan at Republic Velodrome Saryarka in Astana, Kazakhstan on February 23 and the second one against Iran at KD Jadhav Indoor Hall in New Delhi on February 26.
* The 24 competing teams have been divided into six groups of four.
* The top two teams in each group will make it to the final round in Saudi Arabia next year, while the six third-placed teams will play in another qualifying tournament for the final four places.
* In all, there will be three windows to decide which teams compete at the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup: February 2024, November 2024 and February 2025.
* From 22-26 February, the process to determine the 16-strong field for the Asia Cup 2025 in Saudi Arabia will begin with Window 1.
* The 24 countries will play across four gamedays.
