DESCRIPTION:
* Organised by International Cricket Council (ICC) the Mens T20 World Cup was first hosted by South Africa in 2007.
* The ninth edition of the biennial tournament will feature 20 teams and a total of 55 matches.
* Defending champions England and West Indies have won the T20 World Cup twice each, while Australia, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka have emerged champions once each.
* Canada and Uganda qualified for the men`s T20 World Cup for the first time, while the United States is participating for the first time by virtue of being co-host.
* The 20 qualifying teams will be divided into four groups of five teams and the top two teams in each group will advance to the Super 8 round.
* In the Super-8 stage, the qualifying teams will be split into two groups of four and the top two teams from each group will qualify for the knockout stage, which will consist of two semi-finals and a final.
