DESCRIPTION:
*     Hockey India announced a 20-member Indian U-21 team, including three from Odisha on November 18.
*     Odisha players are Anmol Ekka, Roshan Kujur and Mukesh Toppo.
*     Amir Ali will lead the team with Rohit as vice-captain.
*     Former India goalkeeper PR Sreejesh has been named as the head coach.
*     Mens Junior Asia Cup 2024 will feature 10 teams.
*     Teams will play league matches in two pools and the top two teams from each pool will qualify for semifinals.
*     Defending champions India have been placed in Pool-A, along with Japan, South Korea, Thailand and Chinese Taipei.
*     Junior Asia Cup will be a qualifying event for the 2025 Mens FIH Junior World Cup.
*     India has been the most successful team in this tournament, winning the title four times (2004, 2008, 2015 and 2023).
*     Besides the four gold medals, India has the reputation of winning two silver (1996 and 2000) and two bronze (1987 and 2012).
*     India will play their opening match against Thailand on November 27.
*     They will meet Japan on Nov 28, Chinese Taipei on Nov 30 and South Korea on Dec 1.
