DESCRIPTION:
* Mens U-19 Asia Cup was first held in 1989 in Bangladesh.
* India has been the most successful team having won the tournament eight out of ten times.
* India and Pakistan shared the title once in 2012.
* Afganistan and Bangladesh have won the title once each.
* Eight teams will compete in the U-19 Asia Cup 2024.
* Teams will play league matches in two groups and the top two teams from each group will qualify for semifinals.
* India have been placed in Group-A along with Pakistan, Japan and UAE.
* Group-B has been formed with Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afganistan and Nepal.
* Some of the key players to watch from the Indian team include the enigmatic 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who recently became the youngest player to get picked up by a franchise in Indian Premier League.
* Adding to the batting prowess is 17-year-old Ayush Mhatre, whose stellar performances in the domestic circuit for Mumbai have caught the attention of the selectors.
* The middle-order batter from Uttar Pradesh, Mohammed Amaan, will lead the Indian team.
* Other players to watch include C Andre Siddarth (Tamil Nadu), leg-spinner Mohammed Enaan (Kerala) and Karnataka batters Hardik Raj and Samarth Nagaraj.
* Bangladesh will enter the tournament as the defending champions, having won the 2023 final against the UAE by a margin of 195 runs.
* Matches will be live telecast from on Sony Sports Ten 5 SD & HD and Sony Sports Ten 3 SD & HD (Hindi) channels.
