DESCRIPTION:
* Hockey India has announced an 18-member Indian team, including Sunelita Toppo as the only player from Odisha for this tournament.
* Best six National teams of Asia compete in this biennial tournament, which was first held in 2010 in Busan, South Korea.
* South Korea has been the most successful team, winning the gold medal three times, while India and Japan have won the yellow metal twice each.
* Besides the two gold medal in 2016 and 2023, India has bagged silver medal twice (2013 and 2018) and bronze once (2010).
* Womens Asian Champions Trophy 2024 will be the eighth edition of the tournament.
* India will start campaign as defending champions.
