DESCRIPTION:
* SAFF Women Championship, also called the South Asian Football Federation Women Cup, is a competition for seven women national football teams governed by the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF).
* The seven participating teams are: India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Bhutan.
* The tournament was first held in 2010.
* India has been the most successful team, emerging champions five times.
* Bangladesh is the defending champion.
* Dashrath Stadium in Kathmandu is the venue of the championship.
* The seven teams will play league matches in two groups and the top two teams from each group will qualify for semifinals.
* Placed in Group-A, will play their two league matches against Pakistan and Bangladesh on October 17 and 23 respectively.
* Semifinals will take place on October 27, followed by the final on October 30.
* All India Football Federation has selected a 23-member Indian women team for the upcoming edition.
* Only one player from Odisha (defender Juli Kishan) has been selected in the Indian team, which will be led by Loitongbam Ashalata Devi.
