DESCRIPTION:
* Around 3,800 athletes from 30 States and Union Territories are expected to compete in nine disciplines.
* Mallakhamb and kabaddi will be demonstration sports.
* A total of 106 gold medals will be on offer in the inaugural edition of the KITG.
* Government Odisha has fielded a 154-member State contingent, the largest among all states, featuring 132 players and 22 coaches and support staff.
* Barring football, Odisha will compete in six disciplines – archery, athletics, hockey, swimming, weightlifting and wrestling.
* Olympian Lazarus Barla has accompanied the Odisha hockey squad as the coach.
* Prabodha Kumar Mohanty has been named as the manager of the Odisha athletics squad.
