DESCRIPTION:

*     Chess International Master Debasish Das and football coach Mohammad Shahid Jabbar have been selected to receive the Award for the year 2010.
*     Das and Jabbar will be awarded as the best young sportsperson and best coach respectively.
*     This year’s award for the best sports organisation will go to city-based Utkal Karate School (UKS) for promoting weightlifting, powerlifting, arm-wrestling, shooting and fencing as well.
*     The awards will be presented on the occasion of 12th death anniversary of sports journalist Ashok Patnaik in whose memory the award was instituted in the year 2000.
