DESCRIPTION:

*     The programme is meant to select young talents for admission into 15 government-run sports hostels and three centre of excellence for the academic year 2011-12.
*     Talent scouting in athletics and weightlifting for centre of excellence and in football for senior sports hostel will take place at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar on July 29.
*     Kalinga Stadium will also be the venue for selection of talents in archery, athletics, basketball, football, gymnastics, kabaddi, swimming, volleyball, weightlifting and wrestling (all for sports hostels) on July 30.
*     Similar program in hockey will be held at Sundargarh Stadium, Sundargarh on August 5 and 6.
*     Talents for state-level programme have already been short-listed from core-pocket and district level competitions.
*     However, talents with the experience of securing at least sixth position in a National championship can take part in the state-level programme directly.
