DESCRIPTION:
* As many as 24 teams from 18 states would compete in Division I and II of the tournament, which would be staged for the first time in Odisha.
* Twelve teams each would take part in the Division I and Division II.
* This is the top most domestic tournament for women in the country.
* After completion of the ensuing tournament, top two teams from Division II will be promoted to next year’s Division-I and bottom two teams from Division-I will be relegated to Division-II.
* Last year, Pune and Kerala emerged champions in Division I and II respectively.
* Two teams from Odisha _ Bhubaneswar and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) _ are set to compete in the Division I of the upcoming tournament.
* In the last year’s Division-I tournament, the Bhubaneswar finished fourth and KISS fifth.
* The all-India tournament would also serve as the basis for selection of India probables for the Asian Women’s Rugby Championship, scheduled to be held at Pune from October 13.
