DESCRIPTION:
*     The double-leg event will start with an AITA Talent Series Tournament for under-14 boys and girls from November 5 to 8 and end with the Odisha Open Tournament from November 8 to 11.
*     Youngsters from as many as seven states namely Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chandigarh, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and host Odisha will vie for honours in the Talent Series Tournament.
*     Odisha duo Avilash Mishra and Koyal Mishra have been made the top seeds in boys’ and girls’ singles categories respectively.
*     Title winners in each category will get 15 AITA ranking points and the runners-up 12 points apiece. Similarly, semifinalists, quarterfinalists, pre-quarterfinalists and first-round losers will gain 10, 8, 6 and 2 points each.
*     Matches will be played on two hard and as many clay courts.
*     Odisha Tennis Association (OTA) vice-president Satyajit Mohanty and Jatin Batsya will act as tournament director and tournament referee respectively.
*     The Odisha Open Tournament, offering a total cash prize of Rs 80,000, will feature competition in men’s open singles, open doubles, mixed doubles and veteran doubles for 40-plus and 50-plus age groups. Players from all 16 affiliated district units of OTA have confirmed their participation in the four-day tournament.
*     Men’s open singles champion will get Rs 8,000 and the runner-up Rs 4,000. Title winners in each of the other four categories will take home Rs 6,000 each and the losing finalists Rs 3,000 each. Players reaching quarterfinals will be assured of some prize money.
*     Hockey Olympian and Rajya Sabha Member Dilip Tirkey has agreed to grace the opening ceremony as chief guest.
*     Similarly, Food Supply Minister Pratap Deb and Police DG Prakash Mishra have consented to attend the closing ceremony as chief guest and guest of honour respectively on November 11.
