Manoj Panigrahi of Puri emerged champion in the 1st All-Orissa Open Kalinga Cup Summer Chess Tournament, which concluded at Kharavela Nagar in Bhubaneswar recently. He scored 10 points from 11 games to receive the top prize of Rs 5,000. Swayangshu Satyakam finished runner-up despite obtaining 10 points as well. The five-day tournament was organised by Kalinga School of Chess. Final standings (Top 10): 1. Manoj Panigarhi (10), 2. S Satyakam (10), 3. Rajendra Sahu (9.5), 4. Debasis Das (8), 5.
