  Jeet Das lifts P Sen Memorial snooker trophy

Reigning state senior champion Jeet Kishore Das added one more trophy to his cabinet by winning the title in the 6th Pradeep Sen Memorial All-Odisha Open Snooker Tournament that concluded here at Cuttack Club today. Local favourite Jeet proved too good for Bhubaneswar opponent Rakesh Roshan Pradhan, whom he crushed in the lop-sided final by 6-1 frames.

Champion Jeet received a cash prise of Rs 15,000, while Rakesh was given Rs 10,000. Harish Puri, Dirctor of Jhoom Sports Club & Resorts, the main sponsors of the tournament and its Managing Director, Ruchika Mohanty handed over the trophies at the closing function. Over 50 cueists participated in the eight-day tournament, which offered a total prize fund of Rs 49,000.

 

``Despite playing two days in a week I am hoping to make Odisha`s presence felt in the national firmament of snooker and secure a place for myself among top 32 snoomer players of the country,`` said Jeet, who is an IT professional.
