Odisha Sports Journalists Association (OSJA) paid humble tribute to eminent sports journalist Ashok Patnaik on the occasion of his 17th death anniversary at Unit-VI Govt Boys High School ground rest room here today.

In a simple meeting, organised with the support of Unit-VI Athletic Association, OSJA members reminisced the vast knowledge humble personality of Late Patnaik as a sports journalist and admired his contribution for the betterment of sports and sportspersons in the state.

The members also discussed the delay in reviving the Ashok Patnaik Memorial Sports Award and it was unanimously decided to reintroduce the awards in different categories from next year. OSJA working president Sanatan Pani, vice-president Sanjib Biswal, secretary Suresh Swain, joint-secretary Sambit Mohapatra, member Tapan Swain, Sarbeswar Mohanty, Samikshya Patnaik, Debasish Sundaray, Sudipta Swain, Ashish Kumar Ray and Tanmay Das were present on the occasion.
