A three-member Odisha women squad bagged three medals in the National Indoor Rowing Championship, which was held at Lake Club in Kolkata on September 17 and 18, 2016. The medals included two gold and one bronze.

Sanjukta Dung Dung captured the gold medal in light-weight individual event. She then combined with Manjula Xess to claim the other yellow metal in light-weight pair event. Manjula secured the bronze medal in individual open event.

The championship was conducted over a distance of 2000 meters. Concept2 Model D rowing ergometers, with PM5 monitors were used in the competition. Odisha Association for Rowing & Sculling (OARS) president Binod Dash and secretary Amarjyoti Singh Deo congratulated the rowers for their achievements.
