Formidable Odisha bagged a glorious double by winning both the boys’ and girls’ titles in the Societe Generale Junior (U-18) National Rugby Sevens Championship, which was held at Mumbai Gymkhana in Mumbai on October 20 and 21, 2016.
Odisha girls clinched the title, trouncing West Bengal in the final 21-5. They reached the final with three wins in a row. Odisha girls started their campaign with a 34-0 win over Uttar Pradesh. They maintained their winning run by hammering Kerala 38-0 in Cup quarterfinals and Uttar Pradesh 31-0 in the semifinals.
