The Union Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs has appointed Orissa`s Minati Mohapatra as its observer for cycling in the country. According to officials of the State Directorate of Sports, Arjuna Awardee Mohapatra will attend national, international events and coaching camps to assess the performance of the cyclists and send her views to the Ministry for betterment of the sport in the country. A former international cyclist, Mohapatra is currently working in Rourkela Steel Plant as a Deputy General Manager (Personnel).
