  Ojha emerges Bhubaneswar Open chess champion

Local player Prabhat Kumar Ojha emerged champion in the 30th Bhubaneswar Open Tournament, scoring 7.5 points out of a possible nine at Odisha Secretariat Recreation Club (OSRC) here today. Amarendra Khamari of Balasore finished runner-up also with 7.5 points.

The two-day tournament was organised by Bhubaneswar Chess Association (BCA). OSRC genera secretary Managovinda Dalai and Balasore Irrigitation Division Executive Engineer Raj Kishore Ghadai handed over the prizes in the closing function. BCA vice-president Smruti Ranjan Das, secretary Arati Bijay Mohanty and director Debasis Panigrahi were present on the occasion.

FINAL PLACINGS (Top 10): 1. Prabhat Kumar Ojha, BBSR (7.5), 2. Amarendra Khamari, Balasore (7.5), 3. Sarat Chandra Rao, Puri (7), 4. Kumar Ashok, BBSR (6.5), 5. Prabodh Kumar Mishra, BBSR (6.5), 6.
