  GPC observes World Physiotherapy Day with workshop

Global Physiotherapy Cell (GPC) observed the World Physiotherapy Day in befitting manner by organizing a workshop on `Management of Sports Injury’ at DPI Community Centre here today. State Transports Authority Commissioner-cum-Secretary Madhusudan Padhi inaugurated the one-day workshop as chief guest.

Among others, Olympian Anuradha Biswal, senior orthopedic surgeon Dr Ranjit Panigrahi, local Govt Physical Education College (GCPE) Principal Dr Man Mohan Rout and Khurda District Sports Officer Lalit Mohanty were present as guest of honour.

 

International para athlete Jayanti Behera and her coach were felicitated on the occasion. More than 80 physical education teachers, coaches, students of GCPE and sportspersons attended the workshop as delegates.

In the technical session, Dr Ranjit Panigrahi and martial art exponent Hari Prasad Pattanayak and GPC vice-president Dr Mukti Prasad Dash enlightened the delegates on sports injury management.

Former OSAP Commandant Arabinda Mitra, senior football coach Raj Kamal Mandal, basketball coach Rajesh Singh, weightlifting coach P Dharma Rao and R N Panda were among other guests present in the programme, which was coordinated by GPC adviser Ashok Kumar Mohanty.
