Lesser-know local outfit Bir Bajrangbali Junior Club lifted the Biju Patnaik Gold, defeating Bolangir Sports Hostel by 2-0 goals in the final of the 11th All-Odisha U-16 Inter-District School Football Tournament at Unit-VI High School Ground here today. The champion team received a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and the runners-up side Rs 5,000.
Steel & Mines Minister Prafulla Kumar Mallik handed over the trophy at the closing ceremony. Tournament committee chairman Padmanav Behera, host Unit-VI Athletic Association president Tapan Kumar Mohanty and secretary Dillip Kumar Das were present on the occasion.
