A 27-member Odisha squad, fielded by state weightlifting association, has bagged a total of 10 medals in the 13th Sub-junior Boys & Girls, 30th Junior Women and 54th Junior Men National Weightlifting Championships, which is being held at Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh from February 20. The medals included two gold and eight silver.
According to Odisha Weightlifting Association president Chitta Ranjan Swain, Jhili Dalabehera (Khurda) captured two gold and one silver in junior women 48kg category, lifting 65kg in snatch, 89kg in clean and jerk for a total of 154kg.
Sneha Soren (Mayurbhanj) won three silver medals in sub-junior girls 48kg class with efforts of 62kg in snatch, 77kg in clean and jerk for a total of 139kg. Ghasiram Khara (Sports Hostel, Berhampur) also bagged three silver medals in sub-jr boys 50kg class with 84kg in snatch, 104kg in clean and jerk for a total of 188kg. Sachin Rout grabed one silver in junior boys 62kg clean & jerk with a lift of 135kg.
