Odisha boy Abhishek Mohapatra won both the under-16 singles and doubles titles to bag a double in the AITA Championship Series Tennis Tournament, which was held at VIP’s Club in Raipur (Chhattisgarh) from December 18 to 22, 2017.

Bhubaneswar lad Abhishek emerged singles champion, defeating Vishesh Patel of Gujarat 6-2, 6-3 in the final today. In the doubles final, Abhishek and his Gujarat partner Vishesh Patel prevailed over Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh duo of Pranjal Tewari and Shaurya Manik 6-1, 4-6, 10-7.

The tournament was organised by Chhattisgarh State Tennis Association and Sports & Youth Welfare Department, under the auspices of AITA at from. Abhishek now has 13 AITA titles in his kitty. The 13 titles include four singles and nine doubles.
