Odisha bagged two silver medals through Pragyan Prasanti Sahu and Manisha Merel on the second day of the 16th Federation Cup National Junior Athletics Championship at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu) today.

Pragyan secured the silver in girls’ 100m hurdles, clocking 14.60 secconds. This was the maiden national medal for Pragyan, who hails from Balasore. Manisha Merel of Sundargarh captured the other silver in girls’ long jump with a leap of 5.78 metre in her fifth and last attempt. A 10-member squad is representing Odisha in the three-day National championship, which would conclude tomorrow.
