Kunja Bihari College, Barang emerged champions in the Utkal University Inter-College Women’s Kabaddi Tournament, defeating Government College of Physical Education (GCPE), Bhubaneswar by 31-19 points in the final at Vani Vihar here today.

Earlier in the semifinals, Kunja Bihari College prevailed over Banki College 25-6, while GCPE got the better of Pipili College 22-19. A total of 172 players from 16 colleges participated in the two-day tournament, which was organised by Kunja Bihari College, under the auspices of Utkal University Sports Council (UUSC).

Utkal University CDC Director Prof Santosh Tripathy and Registrar Dayanidhi Nayak inaugurated the tournament, while PG Council Chairman Prof Brahmananda Satpathy handed over the trophy in the closing ceremony.

UUSC Director Prof Kabir Mohan Sethi, Physical Education Officer Ambika Prasad Ray and  Kunja Bihari College Principal Sanghamitra Behera were present at the trophy presentation ceremony.
