  Asiad 2018: India bag 5 medals on Day-Three

India bagged one gold, one silver and three bronze medals on the third day of the 18th Asian Games in the Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang today. India now occupy the seventh position in the medals tally with a total of 10, which include three gold, three silver and four bronze.

Shooters stole the day’s show for India with Abhishek Verma and Saurabh Chaudhary bagging gold and bronze in the 10m Air Pistol event. The big moment of the day came from 16-year-old Saurabh Chaudhary, who broke the Games Record to win the gold. There was another medal in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions, with Sanjeev Rajput winning the Silver.

 

In wrestling Divya Kakran shrugged off her quarterfinal defeat to win the bronze medal in women`s 68kg freestyle event. The Indian sepak takraw men`s team won the bronze medal, creating history in the process.

Indian women`s kabaddi team posted two wins in the day, beating Sri Lanka 38-12 and Indonesia 54-22. The men`s team recovered from their shock defeat to South Korea by beating Thailand 49-30. In Hockey, Indian women mauled Kazakhstan 21-0 to register their second big win.
