Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar (BJB) College and Government College of Physical Education (GCPE) clinched a double crown for Bhubaneswar, winning the women’s and men’s titles respectively in the Utkal University Inter-College Badminton Tournament, which was held here at Vani Vihar from Sept 1 to 4, 2018.

Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Bhubaneswar finished runners-up in both the categories. In the women’s final, BJB College beat RIE 2-0. The men’s final witnessed good fight before GCPE got the better of RIE 3-1.

As many as 31 men’s teams and 12 women’s sides participated in the tournament, which was organised by Utkal University Sports Council (UUSC). Prof Kabir Mohan Sethi, Director, UUSC, handed over the trophies at the closing ceremony.
