Karnataka rode on a 59-ball 89 by Rohan Kadam and a four-wicket haul by KC Cariappa to beat hosts Odisha by 51 runs in their Group-D match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Senior Men T20 Tournament at Barabati Stadium here today. This was the third defeat in six matches for Odisha, who will next meet Bengal at Barabati Stadium on March 2.

Put into bat by stand-in Odisha captain Anurag Sarangi, Karnataka compiled a strong total of 155 for nine. Among Odisha bowlers, Biplab Samantaray and Pappu Roy performed well, picking up two wickets each.

In reply, Odisha were bowled out for 104 in 18.2 overs. None of the specialist batsmen failed to make a decent contribution, while pacer Suryakant Pradhan emerged top scorer with 17-ball 32, which included two sixes and three boundaries.
