  Fed Cup Kho-kho: Odisha eves win historic silver medal

Odisha women created history by winning silver medal for the first time in the Federation Cup Senior National Kho-Kho Championship, the 29th edition of which was held at Purba Medinipur in West Bengal from December 28 to 30, 2018. Maharashtra won the gold medal, defeating Odisha 9-6 in the final.

Sabila Khatun of Odisha was adjudged the best runner of the final. Earlier in the semifinals, Odisha prevailed over last year’s runners-up Karnataka 11-10. Prashant Kumar Mallick and Sagarika Pradhan accompanied the Odisha team as coach and manager respectively.

 

Top eight state teams of the country participated in the Federation Cup. Odisha Kho-kho Association also fielded its men’s team in the competition, but did not disclose any information about the performance of the team.
