  National School Chess: Odisha bag 4 medals

Odisha bagged a total of four medals in the 8th National School Chess Championship, which was held at Raipur in Chhattisgarh from 3rd to 7th April, 2019. The medals included two gold, one silver and one bronze.

Yashita Rout (Khurda) won one gold in under-11 girls category with 7.5 points out of a possible nine. She won six games and drew three. The other gold medal was claimed by Aishwarya Sahoo (Cuttack) in under-7 girls group with eight points out of nine. She won seven games and drew two.

Swastik Suvam Patnaik (Cuttack) secured the silver medal in under-7 open category with seven points from nine rounds, winning six games, drawing two and losing one. Sarthak Devata (Rourkela) grabbed the bronze medal in under-15 open group. He scored points out of a possible nine with six wins, two draws and one defeat.
