Karnataka beat Odisha by 33 runs in their Elite-Group match of the Women Under-23 One-Day League (ODL) at C B Patel Ground in Surat today. This was the third defeat in five matches for Odisha, who will next meet Uttar Pradesh on March 30.

Put into bat by Odisha captain Sushree Dibyadarshini Pradhan, Karnataka were restricted to a modest total of 114. Sushree was most successful Odisha bowler, bagging four wickets 19 runs, followed by Barsarani Singh who scalped three wickets.

But the good work by the bowlers went in vain as Odisha, in reply, were bowled out for 81 in 34.5 overs. Among the batsmen, Poonam Nayak, Reemalaxmi Ekka and Sushree were able to reach double figures.
