Odisha crushed Services by an innings and 31 runs on the fourth and last day of their Elite Group-C Ranji Trophy match at DRIEMS Ground, Tangi, near here today. This was the second successive innings victory for Odisha men, who earlier trounced Chhattisgarh by an innings and three runs.

Odisha batsman Debasish Samantray was adjudged the player of the match for his career-best knock of 195. Left-hander Samantray faced 403 balls in his majestic knock, which was studded with 23 boundaries. This was his second century in first-class cricket.

Electing to field, Odisha rode on a six-wicket haul by senior pacer Basant Mohanty to restrict Services to 271. In reply, Odisha amassed 540 and gained a first innings lead of 269 runs. In the second innings, Services were bowled out for 238.

Among other notable performers for Odisha, Suryakant Pradhan and Debabrata Pradhan scored a breezy half-century each. Suryakant slammed a 28-ball 64 (4x4, 6x6), while Debabrata hit 57 (84b, 7x4, 2x6). For Debabrata this was also his career-best score and maiden first-class half-century.
