  5-a-side Sr National Hockey: Odisha finish 4th

Hockey Odisha finished fourth in both men and women categories of the 4th Hockey India 5-a-side Senior National Championship, which was held at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh from 22 to 27 September, 2019.

In the third-places matches, Odisha men lost to Hockey Karnataka 1-4, while the women went down fighting to Hockey Haryana 3-4. Hockey Haryana women and Hockey Karnataka men emerged champions, while Uttar Pradesh Hockey settled as runners-up in both the categories.

Hockey Haryana also won the title in the 3rd Hockey India 5-a-side Senior National Championship, which took place at the same venue on September 26. In the final, Hockey Haryana beat Uttar Pradesh Hockey 5-4. Hockey Odisha bowed out in the semifinals of this category, losing to Hockey Haryana 3-6.

Sept 27 (SF): Hockey Odisha (Cyril Lugun 10’) lost to Hockey Karnataka (Abharan Sudev 2`, 11’, Mohammed Raheel Mouseen 5`, Pradhan Somanna 5`) 1-4.
Sept 25 (QF): Hockey Odisha (Manoj Kindo 7`, 16`, Cyril Lugun 2`) beat Hockey Haryana (Manpreet 4`, Jagwant Singh 8`) 3-2.
Sept 24: Hockey Odisha (Sushil Dhanwar 1’) lost to Hockey Punjab (Surdarshan Singh 4`, 11`, 13`, 17`, Mahkeet Singh 3`) 1-5.
Sept 23: Hockey Odisha (Albert Tete 2`, Prasad Kujur 4`, Deepak John Kerketta 14`, Sushil Dhanwar 17`) lost to Hockey Karnataka (Mohammed Raheel Mouseen 2`, 11`, 13`, 16`, 20`, Abharan Sudev 3`, 17`, Pradhan Somanna 18’) 4-8.
Sept 22: Hockey Odisha (Prasad Kujur 4`, Rahul Ekka 14`) lost to Hockey Jharkhand (Noyel Topno 6`, 7`, 12`) 2-3.
WOMEN:

Hockey Odisha (Dipti Lakra 1’, Ashmita Barla 6’) lost to Jharkhand (Alka Dungdung 5’, Betan Dungdung 12’, Birajini Ekka 17’) 2-3.
Sept 27 (SF): Hockey Odisha (Ajmina Kujur 2’, 6’, Dipti Lakra 12’) lost to Hockey Haryana (Usha 2’, Deepika 5’, 8’, Monika Sihag 19’) 3-4.
Sept 25 (QF): Hockey Odisha (Premita Bara 14’) beat Hockey Maharashtra (Preeti Dubey 5’) 3-2 in Penalty Shootout (Full time 1-1).
Sept 24: Hockey Odisha (Ajmina Kujur 1’, Asmita Barla 20’) beat Hockey Punjab (Navneet Kaur 1’) 2-1.
