Odisha beat Bihar by 62 runs on the fourth and last day of their second Plate-Group match in the Col C K Nayudu Trophy U-23 Cricket Tournament at Gandhi Stadium in Balangir today. This was the second straight win for Odisha, who earlier defeated Meghalaya by 284 runs.

Half-century each by Amrit Khatua (98), Sourav Kumar Gouda (74) and Kartik Biswal (58) helped Odisha make 332 after they were put to bat by Bihar captain Sachin Kumar Singh. In reply, Bihar were all out for 224 with Preet Kanwar Singh Chohan taking five wickets for Odisha.

Leading by 108 runs in the first innings, Odisha compiled 187 in the second essay to set a daunting target of 296 for Bihar to win the match. But the visitors folded up for 233 in their second innings. Odisha stumper Gouda scored half-century in both the innings of this match, while captain Soubhagya Ranjan Mishra bagged a pair.
