ISL Football: Odisha FC post hat-trick of wins at Kalinga
11 Jan 2020 BHUBANESWAR

Odisha FC toppled Mumbai City FC 2-0 to make it three wins out of three at the Kalinga Stadium here today. After a barren first-half, Aridane Santana (48’) and Xisco Hernandez (74’) scored the two goals for the home team.

The three points took the tally of Odisha FC to 18 points from 12 matches. It saw Odisha FC surge into the top-four at the expense of Mumbai who are two points adrift. On the other hand, this was the second consecutive defeat for Mumbai City FC.

A crestfallen Mumbai outfit could not muster any sort of comeback as Odisha registered a hat-trick of triumphs at the Kalinga Stadium, which turned out to be a fortress for the home team.

Odisha FC also made a clean sweep of all the awards of the match. The Club Award was given to Odisha FC as they won the game comfortably. Xisco Hernandez of Odisha FC bagged both the Player of the Match and Winning Pass of the Match Awards.

Jerry Mawihmingthanga took the ISL Emerging Player of the Match Award, while Aridane Santana collected the Hero of the Match Award. Odisha FC will next play Hyderabad FC at GMC Balayogi Athletic Stadium in Hyderabad on January 15.
