  Deep, DSYS bag Hockey India Annual Awards 2019

Odisha bagged two awards at the 3rd Hockey India Annual Awards 2019 Function, held in New Delhi today. Department of Sports & Youth Services (DSYS), Government of Odisha won the Hockey India President’s Award for Outstanding Achievement 2019, while Odisha woman hockey star Deep Grace Ekka took the Hockey India Milestone Awards for completing 200 International Caps.

Rina Mohapatra, Joint-Resident Commissioner at RC Office, Delhi received the award on behalf of Odisha Government. The award carried a cheque of Rs 5 lakh. Defender Deep Grace Ekka was presented with Rs 1 lakh and trophy.

 

As many as 21 awards, carrying total prize money was in excess of Rs 1.64 crore were given away on the occasion. Harbinder Singh won the prestigious Major Dhyan Chand Lifetime Achievement Award 2019, while Manpreet Singh and Rani Rampal won the Dhruv Batra Player of the Year Award 2019 for Men and Women respectively. International Hockey Federation President Dr Narinder Dhruv Batra and Hockey India President Mohd Mushtaque Ahmad were present on the occasion.

LIST OF HOCKEY INDIA 3RD ANNUAL AWARDS 2019:
1.  Major Dhyan Chand Lifetime Achievement Award 2019: Harbinder Singh (Rs 30 Lakhs and trophy).
2.  Dhruv Batra Player of the Year 2019 (Male): Manpreet Singh (Rs 25 Lakhs and trophy).
3.  Dhruv Batra Player of the Year 2019 (Female): Rani Rampal (Rs 25 Lakhs and trophy).
4.  Jugraj Singh Award for Upcoming Player of the Year 2019 (Men U-21): Vivek Sagar Prasad (Rs 10 Lakhs and trophy).
5.  Asunta Lakra Award for Upcoming Player of the Year 2019 (Women U-21): Lalremsiami (Rs 10 Lakhs and trophy).
6.  Dhanraj Pillay Award for Forward of the Year 2019: Mandeep Singh (Rs 5 Lakhs and trophy).
7.  Ajit Pal Singh Award for Midfielder of the Year 2019: Neha Goyal (Rs 5 Lakhs and trophy).
8.  Pargat Singh Award for Defender of the Year 2019: Harmanpreet Singh (Rs 5 Lakhs and trophy).
9.  Baljit Singh Award for Goalkeeper of the Year 2019: Krishan B. Pathak (Rs 5 Lakhs and trophy).
10. Jaman Lal Sharma Award for Invaluable Contribution 2019: Sports Authority of India (Rs 5 Lakhs and trophy).
11. Hockey India President Award for Outstanding Achievement 2019: Department of Sports & Youth Services, Government of Odisha (Rs 5 Lakhs and trophy).

1.  World Games Athlete of the Year 2019:
Rani Rampal (Rs 10 Lakhs).
2.  FIH Mens Player of the Year 2019: Manpreet Singh (Rs 10 Lakhs).
3.  FIH Mens Rising Star of the Year: Vivek Sagar Prasad (Rs 5 Lakhs).
4.  FIH Womens Rising Star of the Year: Lalremsiami (Rs 5 Lakhs).
5.  200 International Caps: Deep Grace Ekka (Rs 1 Lakh and trophy).
6.  200 International Caps: Kothajit Singh Khadangbam (Rs 1 Lakh and trophy).
7.  200 International Caps: Savita (Rs 1 Lakh and trophy).
8.  100 International Caps: Harmanpreet Singh (Rs 50,000 and trophy).
9.  100 International Caps: Lalit Kumar Upadhyay (Rs 50,000 and trophy).
10. 100 International Caps: Nikki Pradhan (Rs 50,000 and trophy).
